Art of recycling contest

Following the Town Hall's environmental project, our students and teachers did their best. The best works were displayed in different public places and our pictures made of recycling materials got the 3rd prize among other schools' works.

Egg parade

In February 2013, in a partnership with the Town Hall our students were involved in the contest "Egg Parade". The egg was decorated with recycled paper, sea shells and fishermen's net. It was a tribute to our local community and mostly to the fishermen's village: "Afurada". The school got a merit prize for its involvement.

Water, a vital and fragile resource

In a partnership with the Environment Department from Vila Nova de Gaia Town Hall, students attended a session held at school about the water as a vital and fragile resource.

Visit to "Suldouro".

On the 16th April our students had the chance to visit "Suldouro", a sanitary landfill, in a partnership with the Environment Department from the Town Hall. A bus was provided and a guide was there to explain all the process. A document from the Town Hall certified our presence.

Flyers
Students made some flyers related to environment to call people's attention to climate change, recycling and saving the environment.
And on the 7th June some younger students handed them to the local community.

"Haikus"
On 29th April 2013 students made some bookmarks based on poems related to the sea. It was a partnership with the school library in the reading week about the sea.
